Do USA dealers have the VMI (Vehicle Master Inquiry) or MB net For EURO/gray market
Are they available for the Gray Market cars, or even exist on the computer database at the Mercedes Dealers in the USA?
Specifically for a W126 vehicle? Maybe someone who's dialed in to the Mercedes dealer network in the USA might know?

I'm not sure if this answers your question or not, but when I owned MB vans, dealers did not have info on them. Europa in Santa Fe had the info because they were importing Gwagons at the time. Nobody else to my knowledge. I don't know if the same situation applies to cars.

I went though this once on a euro S600 W140 for of all things, an engine belt. they needed the engine number to get the correct one. The service manager had to contact our dealer representative to get a VMI for the car.

Where do you find the engine number?
Guess its going to be hard for a mechaniic to get specs for the Euro car & not confuse it with the US version This is a concern I really like to know as much as I can.

the engine number is printed on the VMI, we just had to get the dealer rep to run the VIN for us, since dealers can't run a euro VIN on their own.
for the most part, your specs and parts will be similar to a US version. I've run into a problem trying to get an AC compressor belt for my euro 300TD because it's got some weirdo system installed on it that I have to figure out who makes before I can get the right belt

Euro AC's are different
I've heard this is a good thing...unless of course you need parts... I have to find out about getting a VMI Thanks
