rear wheel squeal

I just got a 1979 w123 300D with 187,000 miles. I noticed that a squeaking sound intermittantly seems to be coming from the drivers' side rear wheel. It is a high pitched sound that sounds like it is rotating. It could just be a bad brake pad, but the brakes don't squeal when applied. Any ideas? thanks!

There is a sheet metal dust cover on the rear of the rotor that could be touching the rotor as rotating. The rubber brake hose could be restricting brake fluid flow back when brakes are released causing the pads to lightly drag on the rotor. The parking brake shoes are misadjusted, too tight? causing the shoe to rub within the rotor. 3 possibilities.

well theres one way to test the parking break squeel, engage the parking brake while the car is in motion, if it goes away Bingo.
