Dangling wire behind driver's side wheel?

Approaching my 300D, I could see it in the parking lot at Home Depot today just hanging behind the driver side tire/wheel. Seems to be a jacket of 2 or 3 wires that runs parallel with the brake line down the inside of the fender. Of course the brake line connects to the brake caliper, but the wire set is just dangling, disconnected.

Anyone know what this likely is? I haven't noticed any malfunction or instrument dummy lights, so not terribly worried. Seems like it was maybe supposed to connect to back of the caliper somehow.

Well, it's hard for those "dummy" lights to illuminate when the wire is disconnected!!! What you describe is the brake wear indicator wiring. Possibly you are missing the bolt that secures the cable to the caliper. Or your leads just became unplugged.
