Various Fluid Pressures
Where are good places to take readings on :
PS fluid pressure Tranny fluid pressure (shift related) Fuel pressures and is braking pressure worth monitoring? would any change in the regular ranges of these pressures indicate time for maintainand or filter replacements?

i doubt it, ps pressure wouldnt change a bit, the fluid is made to be a certain viscosity and stay that way forever.

My aircraft has a fuel filter bypass warning light and a oil filter bypass light. Sort of important at 35,000'. But on a car, not as important. With that said --
On the Mercedes all fluids are controlled by pressure regulator systems. In the service manuals you can find the methods of checking the system pressures with the various gauges, but as long as you follow the regular scheduled maintenance as per the manual you should be fine. Just change them regularly and with the correct fluid. Dave

Let's start a "Who's got the most gauges thread?" The insanity...

I thought at least i'd add a tans temp and maybe a oil temp. was thinking an hour meter switched on at idle to track my idle time..for some crazy reason...of course the question is always "WHERE" check this pic out an tell me what y'all think

HANDS DOWN!
PanzerSD, an hour meter should be standard equipment on ALL engines, a much better indication of when to perform maintenance, (semi's does anyone know?) than mileage. Ask any airplane mechanic, wait a minute, we have one! dmorrison YEA Scott98, yes you can go overboard with anything, yet keeping an eye on vital statistics can't hurt.

And that's only for two engines! You can go stare crazy in a B52! (eight)
BTW, most aircraft only have 4-5 "engine" guages. ( RPM, Temps, Torque for props, Oil Pressure & Fuel Flow)
