Proper Method of Checking Trans Fluid Level, 87 300D ?
Ive seen a couple different methods for checking level, can someone advise which one is the MB preferred method? Ive got a 87 300D turbo with a slow drip out the front seal, and every now and then I get a slight rev between shifts. Im betting it has to do with trans fluid level, so I want to make sure I keep the level right until I can drop trans and fix the seal. Thanks.

get the car up to temperature, (takes about 20 mins worth of driving) Shift the car either into Neutral, or park on a flat level surface. and check the fluid level While running. that should give you a good reading.
