turbo not functioning

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to this forum I have had a 1992 300sd for a couple of years now, and lately I loose power at about the 3000rpm range. This happens on and off, I assume that this is the turbo. Thanks in advance for any help

also check boost signal

On the 603 series engines there is a boost air line that triggers a device called an ALDA to give the engine more fuel when the turbo is spooled up. This line gets plugged and will need cleaning. Also in this path is an overboost relay that sometimes clogs.

On the 87 SDL I had cleaning this line took the car from 0-60 in 19 seconds to 12 seconds. It felt like the turbo wasn't working, it was with no extra fuel.

This is a pretty easy check, and hopefully an easy fix.

Chuck

You've also got an early version of a Mass Air Sensor. The "no power above above 3k rpm" sounds suspicious.

Where's "Sixto" been lately?
