I hope this guy is joking.....

browsing craigslist and i stumbled upon this 85 300D. If you remember some time back when i sold my white 83 300SD, i sold it to a guy that would buy these cars dirt cheap, mickey mouse up the repairs needed, throw veggie kits, claim rebuilt engines and transmissions, and sell them for 4x what he paid for it...search for my thread......knowing how well the search function on this site is i cant find my own thread!!

anyway, now he has his bucket up for sale. $11,500!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOD DAMN thats alot of cash, veggied up by a installer who can hardly figure out how to repair these cars.........im no expert by any means but at least im more informed then he is.

Oh well i hope nobody will get suckered into this car, especially for the veggie/biodiesel craze that many of us have/had fallen into.

wow, wish i could have seen the ad before it was taken down. Sucks how these guys cash out on cars that need alot of work put into them. Then sucker in people that are just getting into the veggie/bio craze and want something pre-built for their convenience and are willing to pay up the butt for the car!

"Just Get it, start engine and drive!" as this idiot says.....

It's a sad commentary today.........but there are plenty of fools to toss cash in the direction of this POS.

It's also a sad commentary that most of the people who sell used cars for a living are just like this POS...........absolutely not a shred of integrity.

What this turkey is doing is akin to "house flippers", who buy rundown houses and paint them and then jack up the price $50K or so.

The average profit on a used car that a dealer pays $5000 for is another $5000. New cars have a much lower percentage of profit.

I watched my poor father buy car after car from dealers, getting diddled time after time, just because he didn't couldn't pay cash and didn't want to borrow money on his own signature. He bought cars with odometers run back and even an ex cop squad car, a Chevy with a hole for the cherrytop poorly patched on the roof.

Eventually, he got prosperous enough to pay cash and bought cars from individuals, and was amazed at how much longer they lasted.

I made my last car payment in 1971 and will never make another.

Ruben, Ruben, Ruben,

Why forsooth art thou so chagrined? Doth thee not knoweth yet ye reside in the Land of the Leftcoastwhackjob? Sayeth that it but appeareth green and the tofu turkeys shall stumbleth upon one another.

(Hey, offer ths guy to run a carbon credit scam on the side as part of his veggiemobile empire. I want 15% of that)

I have always felt it is better to buy from individuals. They aren't nearly as good at hiding things.

I approach this with the same approach I have towards anything WVO/SVO related: Anyone who buys anything, or buys INTO anything deserves what they get if they don't research enough.

I bought my 300D NA as a solid 7.5 out of 10 and it has 201K on it. I paid far, far, far less.
