I would suspect the motor mounts and the engine shocks if you are getting a clunk. Did it also clunk when you turned it off? When my mounts failed it felt like somebody took a hammer to the car when I switched off the engine. If you do the mounts, do the shocks at the same time.

For a nailing issue, I would get new fuel, change the fuel filters, and do a Diesel Purge before pulling the injectors.

Is the oil coming from the valve cover? Replacing the gasket is an easy fix and needs to be done when you adjust the valves.

As far as base lining the car, remember the belts and coolant. You might also want to do a citric acid flush of the cooling system, especially if the car has been sitting for a while.

I think you would get more responses if you used some punctuation and did a spell check on your posts. If you do not do this, your posts become very hard to read and understand.

Welcome to the forum. I would also suggest joining the MB Club of America MBCA.org.

If you use google advanced search with mercedesshop.com as the domain, you can search on just about every procedure and issue that these cars face.

Aaron1972 chill out. These guys are trying to help you out with your car. Their constructive criticisms are only meant to clarify your questions.

Removed by me. I shouldn't respond when I'm upset.

I think the red dye signifies that it is for offroad use, no road taxes have been added to the price. That's how the inspectors know what's in your fuel tank.
