SLS Pump Flow Rate?
I'm getting closer to being able to drop a 617 motor in my 300td from a sedan and have the sls still work, but what I really need to know is the flow rate of the pump in the hydraulic system.
Anyone have this info, or know here I could get it? Cheers, Roger www.guitarmine.com |
I don't know the flow rate but I know most every SLS item from the wagon will bolt into the sedan with minimal modification.

Flow rate is not published but the PSI is. Figure you can calculate the rate based on PSI and tube diameter.
Attached is the Service manual numbers from job 32-530 Dave |
Are you modifying the sedan head to accept the SLS pump? Or are you using the head from the wagon on the sedan block?

I think he's hoping to do neither. He wants to install a 12volt pump.

I'm dropping a sedan motor in my wagon cuz they're cheap and plentiful. I then want to run the sls off of an electric pump. It's not rocket science, It's actually really easy, but given that the only sls pump I currently have is on a motor that doesn't turn, I really need that flow rate. Once I now the flow rate I just pop into the local hydraulic shop, pick out a pump that suits the job, and get them to fab up a couple of fittings, toss it all in the car and your done. A wagon that can chew up as many sedan motors as you can throw at it!!!
OK well, I'm off to bug the snot out of the guys down at the dealer, I'm sure they'll be really excited to hear about all this.....(not) |
can't believe no one has a lead on this!?!

Find a good 300TD and strap a flowmeter to the suction side.

Anyone out there have a good 300TD and a flow meter and want to do some valuable research?
