Does anybody know of a good VW forum for gasoline engines? I have a much unloved Golf that I end up working on. A lot.

VW vortex is a big help if you want to install 17" rims or lower the suspension, but otherwise......it just makes me realize how great this forum is .

I beg to differ. You must have been browsing the MkIV forums. I have always received lots of help on the Vortex whenever I needed it, whether it be technical or topical. I would say that these forums here at MBZShop tend to be more technical, whereas Vortex has technical folk too, but there are a lot more young/fun/naive enthusiasts mixed in. The Vortex still is great for info though.

True, I do end up in the MkIV forum. But since that's what I own, that's where the info is that I need.

And nothing against the Vortex, there is some incredible stuff there! (I remember a project car called "kool whip" that really made me smile.)

But personally, I find the site cumbersome to navigate, it's filled with stuff I'm not interested in, and I haven't always gotten the help that I do here. Just my experience. Was just wondering if there was another forum VW folks use because I haven't found any myself.
