It would be funny if that's all that is wrong with his car

No it wouldn't...
nhdoc was right, it appeared to me that the fuel/bubbles were coming out of the fuel pump into line 74. Is that an in or out line? It moves quickly and is almost a froth so I could be misinterpreting it.

Fuel path enters down 56 to SO, then out 74 across to lift pump, then up 83 to main filter, then down 95 to SO again and from there into the IP and out the DV's to the inj's.
Assuming you see air in #56 as you stated previously you should look for point of entry prior to 56, IMO. Lift pump may be bad TOO (or more likely a connection) btu something prior to 56 is also bad or there would not be air in that line.

Have you double checked that lines 74 and 83 go into the correct ports on the pump and are not reversed? Line 74 should be drawing fuel into the pump and if bubbles are present in it they should go into the pump and out line 83.

The diagram had me a little confused, I didn't realize line 32 is only about 6in long, and it looks like it goes to the first injector? Well, anyway this line is void of air immediatly after shutoff. By the time I get out and open the hood its empty. I may have thought it full before because I saw no bubbles.
While there I noticed #47, the little clip holding the prefilter in was overtightened and bent backwards. I took it off and turned it over so the bend was down instead of up. We'll see if that makes a difference.

nhdoc, would it even run if they were reversed? It seems to run well now, when it starts

Line 32 goes from the PF to the fuel pre-heater. If it is emptying than the leak you have is probably right at the prefilter housing where we have been telling you to look first from the very begining! It is absolutely imperative that the o-ring in the prefilter be a perfect fit or that seal will not hold fuel in the feed line after the car is shut down...it is THE classic achilles heal of this fuel system. Did you remove the prefilter and insure there is a rubber o-ring mounted on it? I'd bet either that ring or the o-ring at the end of line 32 is leaking...

Probably not...but with this fuel system you never know. I'm just covering all of the stupid little mistakes that can cause one to tear one's hair out now rather than later. Just make sure now that both of the o-rings at the prefilter are good and tight now that you have found that the bracket was bent you know there is a possibility that it was the source of all this trouble.

Cal - Line 32 is the start of deliveryy. It does not lead to the inj's.
Additionaly, line #32 should drain back at shutdown. Typically drains back 1-2". While you're working on the little washer holding line 32 to the prefilter PLEASE pull the pre-filter and turn it upside down and make certain there is an oring installed beneath it.

Just got home from work, turning the bracket over didn't help. I will try some of your suggestions now. I watched as it cooled immediately after shutdown. Bubbles come up out of whatever the end opposite the fuel filter is (shutoff valve?) until its empty, or nearly empty. I am going to go pull the pre filter now and see what I find.
Thanks for all the help.

Just realized I didn't tell you which line in the previous post had the bubbles. It is line 56. They come up out of the (SO valve) until it is virtually empty.
While messing with the prefilter I did find that they had the wrong O ring on it, I replaced it with the correct part and a new filter, didn't make a difference. Looked at the bottom of the fitting that snaps into the top of the prefilter, there was an O ring there but couldn't tell you if it was the right one. Didn't seem to fit the post is surrounds snug at all, it turned freely. Now the engine is hot I'll wait before I can put my hands down in there again. I'm going to take some pics, maybe I can better illustrate what is happening. I really appreciate the assistance

If, after shutdown, the bubbles originate at the end of line 56 which is connected to the SOV then I highly suspect the SOV has a crack in it or the o-ring at that connection is leaking. Don't give up on it...you are making progress now...check the connection at that end of line 56, make sure the clip is loose and see if it feels like the o-ring is sealing at the end.

Maybe, (fingers tightly crossed) we have made some headway. When I went out to take the pics, line 56 which was usually empty by this time had only a small bubble (see pic). So I tried to start the car and it started, not perfectly but a %^$## of a lot better than before. I am now going to wait 1/2 hr. before trying to start and see what happens. The pics I think are self explanatory (to you guys anyway) They are, in no particular order, top of the IP showing no leaks, fuel pump (bottom line, difficult to see behind the other, is the one that had lots of bubbles while running) lastly line 56 with its infamous bubble dead center. Thanks again
