Changing the headlight switch makes no difference. The two two models are wired different.

Thanks. It looks nothing like my SD, but I'll do some investigating and see if I can do it as simply.

does this mod activate the 5.75" high beams with the stalk, or do they still have to be turned on with the pull knob?

I'm looking for a mod that will activate the inner lamps when the stalk is pulled back, flashing high beam... and pushed forward, highbeam on.

thx

Jab, I wish I were there to help you wire it.

Tap into a high beam lead and use this circuit to energize the relay(s). The contacts of those relays are then the high current switch to turn on the high beam lamps you use in the fog lamp positins. That will activate the added lights any time the existing high beams are on, that is when you flash to pass or click for high beam.

Don't forget to fuse them or better yet, use an automatic circuit breaker as was used on American cars throughout the fifties to the eighties. With these it will continue to try to turn the light back on once a high current is sneed, unlike a fuse that stays open until replaced.

Hope this helps.

possible to do this with stock wiring? or is this too much?

which one is the high beam lead? can all this be done from the dash knob, or is there electrical trickery that needs to happen in the fuse box.

sorry for the silly questions, but electricity confuses me.

thanks for the comments. hope to get this mod done in the next couple of weeks.

I would use relays. A relay allows you to use a low current circuit to switch a high current circuit. If you don't have a basic understanding of electricity, you really should enlist some help. If you do I will try to help.
