300CD length

How much smaller is the 300CD than a 300D or 300TD?

Is there a noticeable difference in driving or fitting into parking spaces?

Thinking about looking at one of these... but thinking I don't need another huge car. My 300SD is longer than most SUVs.

IIRC it has a 107" wheel base

they all fit fine in parking spaces.. its not like they are a mid 70's Cadillac El Dorado

I drive a CD and my wife drives an SD - the coupe feels small and agile - it handles well in tight spaces. When I drive her SD, I know I'm in a big autobahn cruiser - great car, but it does feel much bigger than the coupe.

The cd is about 4" shorter than the sedans and wagons which are the same. It is in the wheelbase, The wagons and sedans are 110 and the coupe 106.7".

The coupe is a bit lighter too and does feel more nimble. It also has a 2" lower roof line and the driver's seat sits you a bit lower in relationship to the steering wheel. The difference is startling if you go from a sedan to a coupe. You feel as if you are falling down into the coupe.

Yea, definatly noticed the difference going from a 300D to a coupe. You get in a 300D, and sit down in the coupe

coupe

I drive a coupe, and although I haven't driven a sedan, I have seen them up close.

I am 6'0 190, and it is a little challenging sometimes getting in and out. I fit in it perfectly, but if you are over 6'0 you may have to tilt the seat back.

I have two small kids, but asking adults to go to the back seats is no picnic.

I love the style of the coupe, and it is "rare". I does feel low to the ground when driving.

I'm almost 6'2", my 16 yo boy is over 6'4", I have a 300CD that we both love, but I gotta find some lower bucket seats to get some headroom! Does anyone have any ideas?

There is a height adjustment, yet you already be in the lowest position.

the adjustment handle on the left side of the seat pull it up as you slide back. That is your only option.....You probably already know that.

seat height & hood opening

You are right that I might not have known... Alas, I do have the seats as low as they go. (though at one point I had no idea about the hood
I think I'm going to have to go with a pair of non Mercedes seats (sacrilege!)
I haven't changed seats in cars before. It occurs to me that a fella might do it two ways (at least)
#1 Change the seats complete with rails and adjusting mechanisms - means drilling non stock holes in my cherry MB
#2 retain the stock rails and somehow drill and attach new thinner bottomed seats to the stock rails.

I am sure some other 6' plus members have fallen in love with cars that were built for short people......... Any suggestions?......
(please note the lack of jokes at the expense of short people)(and I deny that that stupid song is playing in my head!)

I'm 6-3 and I have no problem with the seat adjustment in my coupe. I have more than enough legroom. I do have problems sometimes seeing stoplights because of the lower roof height sometimes though.
