Hood release ,geniune with no coat hanger.
About as agravating as it gets ,you go to pop the hood and walk around to pull the latch at the hood and its not their.I dig for the metal latch between the plastic grill and break one of the fins .Now if gotten a good steam up and kick a empty paint can and it bounces off the wall to land nicely on top of the car.Im telling this story maybe so cooler heads will prevail ,find the right tools to do the job before tackeling said project ,like a blow torch.I did end up using a coat hanger though,it does the job till a junkyard visit.

Kinda like rounding out a stuck bolt and throwing the wrench, never to be found again...

LOL, I should just order those pulls 5 at a time, I think I've broken mine about 3 times so far. I wouldn't bother with the junk yard, they are very cheap.

I broke mine about 15 years ago. I fashioned a reinforcement "strap" out of aluminum, screwed one end to each of the broken pieces. It's been fine ever since. I will pit my repaired part against a new one any day!
