Oops! Instrument panel wiring diagram?
In the midst of replacing a steering lock assembly, I had to remove the instrument panel to get the lock out.
All was going well until the point where I went to remove the round 15 pin connector from the left end of the panel, when the back of the connector popped loose and about 6 pins slipped out of their holes. The problem now is that I don't know which holes these pins belong in (holes 9-15), and I no longer have the idiot lights along the bottom of the gauge cluster, other than the battery one, and it may have slipped out as well, as it doesn't seem to work correctly now. What I am wondering is if anyone actually has a diagram for the 126 cars, or failing that, would some kind soul be willing to look behind their gauges and write down the color code of each wire in the set? Looking at the back of the connector, they are numbered clockwise, so I should be able to rearrange the pins if I know which wire goes where. Thanks for any information, I've found nothing useful in the searches that I've run so far, but I'm going to keep searching. I'm just not touching the wiring again until I know where I should be putting stuff, so I won't get fed up and start randomly plugging stuff in and fry something!

I know somebody has posted this before
I have seen a nice diagram of the plug posted about a month ago. I would try using Google advanced search putting mercedesshop.com in the domain box.
If you cannot find it, here are the pages from the wiring diagram. Look for wires with C151 on them as that is the name of the plug. Good luck!

Thanks for the help, Dieter.
I couldn't read the diagrams that you posted, due to the small size blurring all the text, but it prompted me to go take a third or fourth look at the CD that I had, where I finally found the diagrams hidden in them. A little bit of time making up a color-code/pin number cross reference sheet, and a little more time putting pins back in the proper holes, and the car is back to normal. Thanks again for the help!

LOL, I did that once. Putting all those connectors back in the proper location is a good way to kill a couple of hours if you are every really bored.
