Does anyone know anything about Peggy's Classic Cars in Portland OR?
I've seen listing after listing for Mercedes diesels on CL by this seller and have come across some of their listings on fleabay. Has anyone had any experience with them or know anything about them?
|
Only that they did not return my call when I left a message about some parts they had on CL.
|
I've seen their listings for parts but didn't bother since they're a dealer.

Isn`t peggy`s Classic cars located in Lynn, Or.?
Last summer when we were in Portland we were trying to find this place. they seem to have some clean cars from the ones I`ve seen in the past on flea bag. I was wondering what their facility is like and see if there is a Peggy:silly:. Charlie |
No they're located in Oregon City near Portland. I don't know if there's actually a Peggy since their ads always mention to contact a Michael.

Well you could be right, I might be thinking of another flea bagger in that
area. I haven`t seen them on E-bag lately and don`t think about CL much. always seems like the posters on CL are so vague about what they are trying to sell. Pictures, milage etc... charlie |
A friend of mine bought a really nice 1980 300CD from them about two years ago. Couldn't figure out why it was so cheap, until the motor seized up on the way home. After the fact, it came out that the motor may have been run low on oil by the PO. Unwilling to give money back, but sold a wrecked 84 coupe with a great running turbo diesel engine. $2500 total and a long weekend later, it turned into a really nice coupe....but.....the original "had possibly been run low on oil"....and they didn't mention anything.

I recall some of their feedbacks on fleabay weren't very complimentary.
Yes, most of their listings on CL are very vague often omitting crucial info like mileage and condition. Often their wording include needs some TLC or needs some work. |
That's West Linn.

I would not buy anything from them again the car was junk.
Sorry this is so late, I just saw this and is most likely no good anymore, but I bought a 300SD from them off ebay about two years ago and it was nothing like what I was lead to believe. I would not buy anything from them again the car was junk.

Peggy's USED to be one of the most reputable classic car dealers in the PDX area. I knew the owner fairly well. He dealt primarily with American classics though (Peggy is his wife). Sounds like maybe he sold the business. They were located on 82nd ave in Portland. Hank never would have been selling crappy used MB stuff. Too bad the new owner didn't change the name.

Peggy's used Cars directions to lot.
:)[QUOTE=lietuviai;1626058]I've seen listing after listing for Mercedes diesels on CL by this seller and have come across some of their listings on fleabay. Has anyone had any experience with them or know anything about them? YES !!! I have talked to Michael in person on their lot. GO PAST OREGON CITY THROUGH CANEMAH ON 99E TOWARDS CANBY.
PEGGY'S USED CARS ON LEFT (APPROX.) 3 MILES FROM SHORT "OC" TUNNEL. No sign but Vehicles Parked like sales lot. Large building on lot used for repair. Cars seem to be priced ok He doesn't push you in to buying from him.....He is not like a regular car lot scalper. He will answer your questions then he is off into the building they use for repairs. Peggy's Used Cars used to be on 82nd ~ Then in West Linn and now off 99E |

There had been some issues with that vendor. In a way since they are a car dealer it is to be expected. Buyer beware is a reasonable and prudent approach. I followed his ebay ads a few years back when he ran more listings.
Our understanding on the east coast is the amount of older mercedes out there is abnormally high per capita and good examples bring high premiums. |
