Vibration ,engine or ?
I changed the motor mounts and the front flex disc. I removed the trans mount and it looked good so i put it back. The rear flex disc is ok. I did valve a adjustment. So far as i could tell the drive shaft support looked good seemed to me to be solid, but I'm not that farmiliar with this. Tie rods were replaced. I increased the idle speed with the idle screw. still it vibrates like the mounts or trans mount were bad. Could it be something with the Injection pump. ANY HELP AT ALL IS APPRECIATED. RAY M

Have you cracked the fuel lines at each injector to see if there's any difference? May isolate an offending cylinder.
|
Sounds exactly like a rack damper bolt. I'm not sure if this car has it but I believe it does...
|
RD bolts on turbos only, and it smooths out above 1000 rpm.

Could be a bad injector, could be low compression on one cylinder. Does you car have engine shocks. Those may help a little.
BTW, you seem to type with all caps a lots, can I ask why? |
IS THIS TYPING WITH ALL CAPS?
OR IS THIS TYPING WITH ALL CAPS? |

A cylinder with low compression will make it shake... especially noticable at idle.
Have you had a five cylinder engine before? They all hop up and down at idle. Completely normal for the unnatural five inline design. Tom W |

I would try cracking open each injector line individually at idle and see if one injector doesn't change the roughness at all or less than the others. And if that doesn't reveal anything they you might test the compression. You could also try settling the mounts. To do this loosen the bolts on the motor and trans mounts then start the car and let it run for a little bit, maybe rev the engine a couple of times. Then shut the car off and retighten all the bolts. |
