Crankcase Ventilation Leak on 602
As I understand it, the 602 engine does not have a PCV valve but rather just an elbow that connects the valve cover to the breather tube. I'm noticing oil residue building up around the base of this elbow. Is this simply something to keep on eye on or something I need to get replaced ASAP?
Thanks.

Depends on how oily you like your engine. The rubber insert is rock hard and shrunken, allowing vapor to deposit oil on the valve cover.
Get a new tube, elbow, and grommet -- you are going to break the old one getting it out, they are VERY brittle by now. Replace the oil filler cap while you're at it, they leak too. Peter

You can buy the grommet and elbow and also a new gasket for the cap for very little money.A little seepage in that area is nothing to worry about, unless you like to have a clean engine. My $.02 Don
