616 Late eng into early 123
Seems theres allot more futzing around putting a newer engine in an early car. The throttle linkage seems to be the biggest problem so far. I wanted to keep the oil separator and manifold which necessitated "denting" the air cleaner slightly so the new (early) linkage rod would clear it on its route up to the top of the valve cover. I installed a sheet metal plate to block off the EGR and removed the "butterfly flap" I could have swapped the old manifold but this way seemed cleaner except for the dented :oair cleaner housing (doesn't interfere with the element) Anybody see a problem? The engine is on the stand and will get a new timing chain, rod& main bearings and oil filter housing gasket.
