Not a good day for me

I was let out from class late, met alot of traffic on the way home... was late for work...

but the thing is.. when I parked the car the front end was gushing coolant... it was not cool.. I had no time to look where it was coming from.

I filled it on my break and tried to look for anything out of order.

nothing..

When I drove home 20 minutes ago I noticed a sound like a wet turbo.. ya know... squelching as rpm's increased... I was like.. wtf... so I turned the heat all the way up.. drove slow the 4 miles to my house and parked..

I popped the hood and the first thing I noticed was my tubro psi line off the manifold was melted!

still nothing.. showing.. I think I will have to look in the morning...

this is not good..

Let it idle for a bit, that will pressurize the cooling system. The radiator probably split. How hot was it running?

the guage is kinda flaky.. but it was at 90C and a little bit above..

I am hoping the rad did not split..

when I came out to look at the car during my break the coolant expansion tank had coolant in the little dip in it ( its like an indent in the middle of it) .. so I know coolant came out of the cap..

I'll check the radiator...

Check the expansion tank. They are notorious. Not quite sure how your waste gate line melted?

expansion tank

Mine developed a split along the seam in the middle (joins top and bottom half). Good luck!

Keep us posted...I know of a radiator...but can't get to it for a few weeks, but you could.

Jack, if he doesn't take it...I'm interested! My upper plastic section has a 3" crack in it.

autozone.. after being on hold for 10 minutes they do not have any kind of testing equiptment. So I took my car, with the coolant toped off and drove it a total of 4 miles... it got to 80C and let it idle in my driveway for a minute. shut if off and looked for leaks...

nothing... nothing at all... what the bloody flying hell...

If you still had heat, then you still had water...
Maybe you'll get lucky!

Was it the waste gate line or your boost gauge line that melted?

Self sealing leak could be bad cap seal, or could be a slice under the hose clamps on your upper rad hose. pisses coolant when it's hotter than hot, but wil not leak at or below 16psi.
