No Interior Lights
This same thing was bad on my 79 before and it was then next thing on my to do list before it got wrecked. So 86 300D no dash lights are working with the exception of the ABS light is on and the green indicator for the lights is on, nothing else works. I dont really see a dimmer on the car anywhere are there any common failures switches fuses etc. that i should look into first?

Dash lights are easy, same setup as your W123. Rotate trip reset. Beyond that, you will need to pull the dash for any other checks. Same as a W123, it's friction fit. Warning lights are fed thru the alternator light, if that is out, it may be preventing the others to light. Also a bad ground is another suspect. While the IC is out, you can check the dimmer, or just jumper it out the circuit. Good luck. Jim

Where is the dimmer located, I see the switch next to the actual light switch, but it only has vacuum lines going to it?

Any others, on the subject? Where is the dimmer located? What grounds to check? With both of my cars having the lights out I can't believe that this isnt a common problem.

It is the odometer reset switch. Twist it. Chances are the rheostat is blown. Hot wiring it should fix the issue.

Ok cool, i'll have to try that tonight. Can somebody tell me what the vacuum switch to the right of the light switch, with 0, 1, 2, and 3 is for?

Park your car facing a wall from about ten feet away. Turn the headlights on and move that wheel while watching the aim of the headlights. Nifty feature of E-code Euro-spec headlights - vacuum adjust for vertical height.

Vacuum height adjustment = SWEET and it does still work miraculously. The dimmer switch was the problem it felt like there was some rust on the contacts as i moved it and the lights flickered to life. I moved it a few more times and they stay on. Thanks for your help.
