I would only think of one.....market! The market for diesel cars has come into it's own in the last 2 to 3 years. Because of that, Mercedes is about to come out with a new line of diesel COUPES and even a convertible.

It says right in the guy's ad that he's using the "S" in SDC, to represent "Sedan", not "S-Class". These were his own words, not mine..

The classic definition of a sedan has nothing to do with the number of doors.

I own a 1973 charger SE. the SE has a solid pillar behind the drivers door. thus it is a sedan not a coupe. their are coupes with rear windows that go down and that don't have a pillar. like the SECs. they are coupes. if they were to have a pillar they would be 2 door sedans.

My last post on this and I am going to leave this alone. The car sold for $5600...
Who wants to bet he's looking for another one to do?

I think it would be cheaper to find your own SEC and om617 and pay him to do it........but that would be no fun!

I'd just get that 380 running, and driving instead of "mongralling" the car, into a slow noisy, smelly diesel.

Hey guys, I havent posted in a while.

I sorta put my SEC project on hold for a little while, I started some new jobs, and havent had the spare time to work on it.

UPDATE: Basically I took a well maintained one owner 300 SD that took a hit in the front, mated it with an 82 240D manual, and stuck it into the SEC.

The SEC i picked up was around 1300, or so, It was not running and the engine was toast. Its a euro so it had some nice goodies.

The engine is installed, but its not actually hooked up. Ill get to it as soon as I have time to do it write. Its not hard and its a worthwile project.

Hey, he has a small repair shop. I bet he had the car and an engine, left by someone in each case and his by default, so he made one servicable car. Seems fine to me.

It's still only worth the cost of the used engine plus the parts value of the body, minus the cost to disassemble it. If the body was in much better condition it would be worth installing the correct engine, as is it's just a funky parts car.

I dont see the problem here, it looks like a fine hacked mercedes (by hacked, i mean not original but still very nice). If it was on craigslist for cheap and I had the money I would love it to death and so would my dad. So what if its not original, atleast it doesnt have a shortblock chevy v8 or whatever in it
