Heavy Duty Trunk Triangle?
I was at the junkyard today and was rooting around in a 220D W114 and was sorting through garbage and found....a trunk triangle with a vinyl cover!
This triangle has cast feet as opposed to the thin stamped feet of the others. Does anyone else have one of this type? It weighs over 5 pounds! http://www.curtisgee.com/images/IMG_4252.JPG |
That's the same kind I got out of a 78 280E.
|
Does it fit in the trunk lid of a W123 sedan?
|
I think the only one that won't fit on the trunk bracket is the fuel can triangle. :D
The only thing I changed on my trunk was to move the springs a notch out. |

Nice, leaking diesel all over the trunk contents. |
Same as the one that is IN my 1984 300D Euro.
|
My 500SE has the same
|
Seems odd since my 6.9 has an older (presumably) and lighter (cheaper to produce) one and typically it's the other way around with things.

I have those two, check the official triangle thread. I posted the differences between the heavy duty and the lighter versions. Yep, weighs a whole lot more and will probably not be blown away should you need to use it and place it on the road...

Thats the same one I have. But mine has little rubber feet.

Looks like the one I have in the SDL, but mine has rubber feet.
