300D NA fuel tank capacity
My 240D has a 17 gal fuel tank and I'd like a 21 gal tank. I may have access to a tank from a 300D NA (non turbo, not sure exact year). Does it have a 21 gal tank and will it bolt right in my 83 240D?

off the top of my head i would say the na would have 18 or 19. to get the biggest tank you probably will have to get one off a turbo model. I am pretty sure they offered three sizes of tanks.

Should be available in 14, 18 and 21gallons depending on the year and model.
My 1980 240D has the small tank and I only get about 320miles with it.

Are tanks marked with capacity and/or part numbers? If so, where exactly?
