OMG just did the best diesel burn out ever!

Since its rainy today, and my Yoko's suck, don't get me going on those POS tires. Anyone I discovered I can break the rear lose with little effort.:D So on the way home from class today I came to a perfect 4 way stop, kicked the gear selector to 2nd. As soon as I stopped it dropped to first gear, good trans.:D I floor it and turn the wheel right since I needed to go right. Rear end lights up, car starts to stop while the rear goes sideways, now I see smoke!:D Smoke lots of tire smoke! The 603 is bouncing off the 5k rpm IP limiter and the right rear tire is turning into smoke.:D Naturaly I keep my foot into it, and into it, lift a bit rear grabs. The skid marks must be wicked, I can't wait to see them tomarrow. Now my whole car smells like rubber!:D The best part was their was an Audi S4 going pass me that saw the whole thing, he gave me a thumbs up!:D

What a good use for these tires, they are good for something!:D They have over 50% tread left still, I think I'll do something about that.:D

Diesel Mercedes burn out.

It was the SDL's personal best, I'm sure she is proud.:P:D

Ok this CDI has me beat:

This one has me really beat.

But I'm still claiming top 10!:D

Doing a burnout is not that difficult :P.

On my 190D 2.5 turbo I use the left foot for the clutch, with the tip of my right foot I press the brake pedal hard. Then, with the hill of the right foot rev the engine to about 3k rpm, then release the clutch. I can keep my car spinning all day long like that.

Once coming back for the airport at about 4.30 am, the street close to my apartment was wet. A road cleaning truck had just cleaned it. I was waiting a traffic light. Lights turned green, started moving, pressed a bit the throttle to have enough speed for 2nd, but spun the rears pretty nice. Then I spun in second, third and fourth . It was fun but dangerous because if you loose the rear end at about 70kph you can't really catch the drift anymore. It was a lot of fun.

About 2 weeks ago I was racing a guy, yes I know it was pretty childish. He thought his Lancia Lybra 1.9 jtd is faster than my "old" merc. On a straight line, was speeding in 3rd, ~110-120kph, ~5k rpm, changed to 4th, pressed the throttle hard, dumped the clutch and there I was drifting at about 120-130kph. Moved away from the outside lane to the middle lane while the rear was trying to overtake me. Almost hit a very nice looking S class, the newest model.

Lots of fun I should say :dizzy2::grim:.

Just a word or warning....get an EGT gauge! All of that is fun, I can even get my 85 300d to power brake burn out on WVO, but the EGT's get up there.

these cars have limiters?

KAdams4458 10-10-2007 06:38 PM

Hmm. my 300D can spin a tire on gravel in reverse only. My wife's under-powered Kia Sportage can blow the doors off of it. Sad, eh?

Yes, the injection pump mechanically limits the fuel....on the 617 it is limited to 5250rpm.....

My dad did a powerslide in our 300D today while turning in the rain! It broke the tires loose and he power slid it through the entire turn at probably 4500rpm! Fun! And they're not bad tires either! :D:D

ive gotten some nice ones in second gear, since it starts out in it, but you have to lock the wheel one way first. never tried first gear going sideways it would kill me for sure :D (280ce)

A thread that starts with "OMG", and it is about burning out......:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
A heavy sigh ensues............................:(
It's so Benzworld over here now.....

Hatterasguy 10-10-2007 08:06 PM

Oh lighten up.

Those with manuals have it easy! Auto's are harder to break lose, well at least these cars are. Something with balls you just kind of floor and it roasts the rear tires.

2.5Turbo 10-10-2007 08:17 PM

I can do that in my 2.5T in first through a turn on my Michelins with about 50% left. I've consciously tried once to see if it would do it ;)

crashone 10-10-2007 10:00 PM

BAHAHAHA!!!!! I got a good chirp one day when the tranny shifted perfectly over a wet metal manhole cover in the road!!! BAHAHAH!!! I wanted to do that again just because. Oh well so much for that.

Jim Anderson 10-10-2007 10:58 PM

Burnouts with a diesel get double the smoke:D

invol 10-10-2007 11:03 PM

http://smiliesftw.com/x/laugh.gif How true!

I used to do it all the time when I had the old POS tires, but once I got the 16s, it's been a lot more difficult.
