Rebuilt A/C compressors... any recomendations on brand?
I have an '87 300TDT and the guy wants me to get the A/C working. Yes we are going into winter but it is a L O N G story. Anyhow, it has the nippon denso compressor. Any brands of rebuilds that you guys have used that are GOOD? Any ones to stay away from? The Compressor is leaking and the car has 316,000 miles on it. I don't think that I want to screw around trying to have it resealed.

Not to dis our host, but I bought one from Adsitco couple of years ago and it works fine. It was rebuilt by Behr. There is some info on resealing the N-D on a Porsche website. If yours is only leaking you may want to try that, it would be much less $$, a rebuilt unit is going to run you $500 or more.

I wish the w123 used the nippondenso vs. the POS GM R-4.
You should be able to get a rebuilt one or even a new drop in from Sanden as well. Search the model number, as that unit may have been put on other cars as well, and you may find it at a lower price.
