To each their own, I have had success adjusting mine. I doubt you'll notice the engine shake itself enough to need new mounts. One of my 123's had obviously torn mounts, did not shake. It is a spring pin affair, that dampens fuel fluctuations which can lead to the shakes when fatigued to the point of being worn out.
On a gasser car many years ago, a mechanic asked me to hit the throttle in park, the engine nearly jumped out of the car, new mounts cured that. These things are on turbos only, so should be on a 116. DieselDog would you look to see if there is one on your engine. It is located on the lower rear of the IP, just in front of the oil filter canister. I'm curious to find out. Part #257 in exploded view.

location of bolt
Could someone tell me where this bolt is in a 1982 300D Turbo? I see the posted schematic, but I am not sure what I am looking at... sorry.

Its difficult to see where it goes in that picture, but it looks like 257 is the rack dampener. look on the side of your pump towards the engine, down low, and to the back. Looks like a bolt with a jam nut on it.
