According to my Haynes:

Intake .0039"
Exhaust(Turbo) .0138"

You should re-install the old injectors-if you have them- and see if your smoke and poor running condition changes.

I think that may be when it's hot, I dunno....

But, if you look under the hood at the front there is a plate that says what the gaps should be, and I'm almost sure (I'll go look again) it is .035 and .004 mm. Maybe it's mixing mm with inches?

I'll admit I'm mechanically challenged and suffering from noun-deprivation syndrome....

the old injectors....

They are long gone for the core charge.

Thanks.

Intake .004
Exhaust .014

Inches I believe.

This is what I set the valves at on my turbo 617.

I think you're confusing mm and inches.

From the Hayne manual for Turbo617

Intake .0039" OR .10mm
Exhaust .0138 OR .35mm

Like others have said, I just do mine to .004" and .014".

my mis-remembering...

I just looked at the plate under the hood and it said .35mm and .10mm.

Thats is what I set them at.

I did just adjust the IP at about 17 degree on flywheel, it did trickle to a drip, drip, put it back together, it acted like it wanted to start but then didn't yet. I know I could pull it and it would start (have done that once before) but that would not solve the problem.

Does he IP indicate I'm on the right track, since it did dribble to a trickle?
