Tachometer Retrofit

I went to a junkyard this last weekend and scammed a tachometer/clock assy out of a 1987 300D Turbo. I am looking to retrofit it into my 300D Non-turbo so I am looking to see what the two wires for the tach are driven off of. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the 87 300D that would show where the two tach leads run?

Thanks

Kurt Kiefer

frickin whoops - didn't see that you had a Euro-car...

On the W123 bodies (not much help), the two pins are +12v and signal from the tach amp.

I think the cluster from an 87 is physically different and the tach/clock combo is also different than one from a W123 300D (clock reset in different location). Not sure if it pays to pursue it any further.

My 86 is a euro 124, same as the 87 stateside. If there is an amp this could be a little harder than I was hoping.

It'll physically fit then, all you need is to have a magnetic pickup that senses 1 per rev of the flywheel and a tach amp in between, wire up signal in/out to the tach and power and that should be it.
