Cruise Control transplant?
I have an '82 240d hangar queen with a manual transmission and cruise control. The cruise control never worked, which I'm told is usually caused by an Amplifier?
My current car if an '80 300d with manual (german market 5spd), but no cruise control. I have some problems with my right ankle that makes it pretty uncomfortable to drive for long periods with my foot on the pedal. So my question is whether it's practical to transplant the CC from the 240 into the 300? And also, is it really true that it's almost always the amplifier? The CC would engage and accelerate, but would not hold a speed. Thanks, SEO |

A better idea, swap out the 5 speed with my automatic tranny...
Yes, usually the amp is the problem.

I won't sell you the 5speed, but how would you like a 4speed? I don't know how transplantable it would be, but all the parts are there on the Hanger Queen. SEO |

I want the coveted 5 speed. The auto is a four speed already. the w123 stuff is transplantable. You can list it in the parts section, and I'm sure you will get lots of hits for it.
Good move keeping the 5 speed.
