She's finished, my beautiful 123 300d euro!

fixed the sunroof, lower ball joints and tie rods, bearing in the front, and put on the euro front bumper I traded for a V8 450 sel engine at my junkyard...
I wonder what it'll bring on fleabay.

no. I traded the v8 out of my 450 sel for a euro front bumper. for some reason it had a us bumper and headlights on it. po probably wrecked it at some point.
it still has the us lights. I think they look better.
are there 2 kinds of euro lights? I saw some that look like the us ones but have glass. and I sold some that were like more solid, so no round lenzes behind the glass.

Seems steep for a bumper. :D

Yes, there are two types of euro lights. I have the round type on my car. (see picture below) .They have the style of the US lights, but llook a bit better and provide better light.

So euro sedans had the rubber end sections, but the coupes had wrap-around metal bumpers?

I'm jealous of the paint. That bumper does seem a little steeply priced. A guy was selling a set of euro bumpers for a W123 in great shape locally for $60 each, or $100 for both a while back... I don't think he really understood what he had in his possession. I should have picked them up and just dealt with the feelings of damnation that followed getting such a good deal.

I gave him the tranny too... but I got the bumper, which is hard to find and worth $250 and a fender for my 124. the V8 I couldn't care less about, it didn't even run right when the car was parked 4 years ago anyway...
paint cost me $200... but I know the guys at the paintshop. I tip them good and then somehow I get the car back with an extra coat of clear on it:D also, I prep and tape myself.

I don't know what kind of paint they use but I've never seen anything that cheap!!! Materials alone would cost more than that for a good BC CC paint job.

I believe that is correct. I have both the round version of the euro lights and the rubber-ended euro bumpers on my US 240D. I think it looks nice.
