Bulb Replacement Instrument Cluster
For someone who knows what he's doing (not me), how much time is involved in replacing the bulbs in the instrument cluster on a 124?
One of mine is burned out....trying to decide if it's worth the expense getting the bulbs replaced. Thanks.

The cluster pulls out, pushes back in. The difficult part is disconnecting the speedometer cable so that you can get it out far enough (threaded on), I've been able to do it on four 124s without any problem.
Allow an hour for the first time, can be done in 15minutes.

Be careful. The clear lense is just glued on and can seperate (and crack)from the rear housing. Best to take off the lower dash panel and push the cluster out from the back side. There may also be an oil line to unscrew (don't know if the W124 had an electric oil gauge).

I just had mine out....look in the DIY articles...it helps. I had to cut two ties under the car to give my speedometer cable enough slack to pull it forward. Don't force it.
