Clear line replacement

Holla!

I was wondering what inside diameter are the clear fuel lines on a 1984 300sd are.

I seem to have air leaks in the fuel system and wanted to replace all the lines with rubber hoses.

Anyways, any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

Those clear lines will crack and break before they start sucking air. Replace all of the braided cloth ones first and see if that makes a difference. Check all the hoses for wet spots. Tighten the spin on fuel filter a bit more or change out the crush washer.

Got some good answers here (although I agree with crash, probably not your air leak....mine leaked like crazy, it would be obvious)

clear fuel line

Anyway, I just replaced mine with 5/16" rubber fuel line, leaving the clear nylon line on the barb. I'm guessing 1/4" is the diameter, since the the 5/16" snugly fits over it.

The barb is 1/4" but like stated before if you cut the nylon line off but leave what is on the barb you can use 5/16" which is what the rest of the fuel lines are.

I also agree that your air leak is probably not with those line, but it never hurts to make sure.
