air cleaner to oil pan tube question
Am I missing a part or something? This tube does not stay attached to the air cleaner and results in "exhaust" from the breather tube being vented through the air cleaner and into the engine bay. oh, and oil dripping onto various hot things. Are the dipstick seal rings (said to be the same rings for this app) what I'm missing here. Or is there is a bracket of some sort that should be supporting the tube? My search on here turned up plenty of mention of the tube but not my specific issue.

There should be a bracket at about the midpoint on the tube.

Look for one of my past posts, I redid the bracket mounting the oil separator return tube because mine was broken and half missing. You need this part to keep your tube from banging around and wearing on whatever it bangs against. New o-rings are required as well.

My 300D had a bracket midway up the tube and it bolted under the intake manifold. I did a turbo oil return seal job once and I took the little tube out as well to reseal it and I had to unbolt it. It still feels flimsy up top even though it is bolted. Maybe a homemade bracket for the tube under the air cleaner would be good. My SD probably needs it too.
