Talking These cars sound like mini Mack trucks!

I got to listen to an SDL from a very weird angle today, at least for me. On the highway at 70 you can hear the turbo outside and it does sound like a Mack. I was driving alongside my brokers SDL today in a CLK550 cab with the top down. I was right next to the fender, and got to really hear the engine and turbo working from an angle that I am not used to.

Cool, never new my car sounded that cool, can't really hear much with the windows up and the radio or phone going.

All I have is a 2.5" pipe from turbo to rear of car. Sounds awesome. I wish I could hear it from outside while driving.

I have actually had someone working the drive through ask me to "Turn off my truck" before I order. The noise is coming from up front and not the rear however, even with my glass pack.

I've never had a drive-thru or bank teller person tell me it was loud. Its that silky gasser-like idle my car has. Can't help it. And thats WITH a straight pipe.

Mine makes so much noise and vibration inside the car and outside I can't even be heard over engine noise on DT speakers.

I think something is F'd up, honestly, it makes more noise than it did a while ago even.

Not as loud as a Cummins, Check, the five inch sewer pipe out the back does provide aural bliss, as well as the free flow intake. I am not sure if they make them for our diesels yet, but i have one on my cummins, Amsoil Absolute Efficiency Air Filters are more or less the best air filter money can buy, and you'll really year the turbo then. Not an oil cover filter either, my turbo on my truck ate the K&N I had on it first, literally pulled the gauze right out of it.
