LOL tho! |
McMaster-Carr doesn't have 'em, so they'll be very tough to find. If the tap used to install an 8mm Helicoil is close to the size of the 10mm hole, you might be able to install a Helicoil as the "adapter."

When air cooled VWs were common you could buy them as a repair part for the studs that bolted the exahust pipe to the cylinder head, maybe one of the VW aircooled specialty suppliers still has them. My $.02 Don

It looks like you can order some silicone fittings for connecting the turbo there too. EDIT: I'm not sure they will be long enough...:( |
try Graingers they will most likely have it. They have everything.
|
Maybe....
Think there is a 10/8 mm stud in the front bumper ends on the front of the SD and SDL cars (holds the chrome onto the bumper). Maybe MaMa Benz parts counter might help.

These will be used for mounting a Jeep Liberty turbo on a 617. It needs to be thread into the stock manifold 1/2" or so on the 10 MM side, pass through a 1/2" adaptor plate, pass through the 1/2" thick flange on the Jeep turbo on the 8mm side and have room for a nut. Say 1" on each side. |
Wouldn't it be possible to take one 2" long 10mm bolt, grind down the diameter on half of it, approximately 1mm, and re-thread it with a 8mm die?

As olddiesel posted, step studs were sold for the old VW aircooled engines, prolly still are.
