DFW convoy to the Tech session Saturday

Well, I can't imagine a lot of folks aren't going to this thing this weekend, although everybody I communicate mostly with here in DFW doesn't seem to be going. I hope yall's circumstances change.
Having said that, a few points of note:
I have no desire for the parade! I want to be "Tech Sessioned..."
To that end, I want to be fairly early, so as not to miss anything, even if that is just early visiting. I will be at Bass Pro at I-30 and Bass Pro Drive sometime close to 9:00am Sat. morning. I plan to pull out of there by about 9:20-9:25. At 9:30 there will just be dissipating smoke! Anybody wanting to caravan with a little cruising 240D is most welcome! I would be happy to exchange cell phone #'s via PM with anybody interested.
Also, I understand that it is beneficial for the North of Dallas area folks to cut across another way, catching I-30 near Greenville or so? We could have a second quick ran devious point out that way should you Lewisville guys want. Either way, I'm getting there to make sure I don't miss nuthin'.
I also have no idea as to my lodgings for Sat. night. Will either find some place when the time comes, or try out Motel China.... Sounds kind of fun to leave that to chance.
I am really looking forward to this weekends events, and can't wait to hang out with my other MB dorks. I hope to see some non-Texas license plates also......

Jimmy,
Get outta my head. I was thinking of similar lodging at Das Gashaus Marlene ...I've got a nice 4" foam pad that should fit nicely in the cargo area of the wagon.

I'd dig a convoy but, I'm leaving from the farm and Greenville is a bit out of the way. But, if you went east on I-20 we could meet in Mineola (or where I-20 and US69 cross)and convoy the remaining distance (woohoo 25 miles) together to Winnsboro from there...

I'll PM you.

convoy

I think I'm going across the top of Dallas on 121, hitting McKinney using 380 to Greenville mergin into I-30 to Mount Vernon.

It doesn't look like the tech stuff starts till after lunch, so I might leave between 9-10am and just get there when I get there.

If tech stuff is starting earlier (but I think the parade is earlier) then I'll leave Lewisville earlier.

I have to split around 4:30-5. Promised I'd take the kiddo to a halloween party Sat night - yippee!

Well heck, I guess I may be at Bass Pro by myself. I certainly hope more folks are coming to the tech session than it seems. I can't imagine missing it!
I have a very hectic schedule the next day or two, but should have everything together. If I stay up late Friday night I guess it will help me be sleepier if I end up sleeping in Motel China Saturday night. The wagon sure would have been more comfortable for that.
Tools are together for the most part. I don't have a variable temp soldering iron like Sunny requested. Anybody else?
If anybody is on the fence, I hope you'll just come on and go. Would like to see you folks again, and meet some others.....
Uh oh, better charge the camera. Hadn't even thought about that!!

**My guess is that we will bypass Greenville near 10:00am, so if anybody wants to catch up with "us" there, please let us know. We could meet off some exit: easy off, easy on....**

If nobody shows I may just change my route and try and hook up with RLeo and Marlene the wonder wagon. Marlene has experience dragging other MB's with problems......
I'll still be there until about 9:25 for anybody planning to go that just hasn't said anything.
My daughter has a soccer game in about an hour, then I will have to come home and pack up China. Gonna be a late nighter.......

I can't wait!!!

Oh, BTW, anybody want me to try and bring the front Euro bumper I got last weekend, complete with the correct side rubber things? I prefer good ol' bulbous American bumpers myself, but I figured somebody would want this. $75 bucks sound fair, or is that out of line?

China is packed to the gills, and the poor old girl is certainly busting a sag! You would think I was staying for a week. Almost forgot the Coleman stove and the two percolators. Love making coffee on the Coleman stove in a percolator!!
I laid down in the back seat just to see how ridiculous it was going to be to sleep in there Saturday night. Not much room, and I'm not a big dude! If I'm moving slow Sunday, I guess I'll have an excuse.
Can't wait yall! Camera batts are charged for sure. Will try and take pics to share the experience. Wish we could all be there.....

**Threw the Mityvac in just in case. I even know of a car with a slight vacuum issue....**
