Is my 85 300TD missing because of this?

Well, I saw today that one of my injector return lines was cracked and squirting fuel here and there while the car is running.
I have been experiencing somewhat bluish/black smoke that smells like unburnt diesel and my car seems to miss at idle till it warms up.
Would a cracked injector return line could cause this, or I'm just whishfull thinking??

I would guess yes, as that injector is not getting the full pressure to inject properly and is probably more or less "dribbling" some fuel into the pre-chamber instead of squirting it. Its not good for the engine if thats happening. I'd replace that line ASAP.

Injector supply lines, yes, return lines, no.

Maybe you have cause and effect reversed? The miss causing the cracked line? Or a common cause to both?

Why would it get pressure on the return side??
The explanation I got was something about the fuel pump being starved for fuel thus the engine 'missing'?? but I still can't make the right link in my mind.

A diesel mechanic said I got either bad compression( I have not checked) or return line problem. As soon as I mentioned the return line for the injector he said something abt the fuel pump being starved or recieving air thus the engine 'missing'?? ????

No and No. Crack the injector lines one at time to find the culprit. Once you have done this have the injector pop tested. Check your prechamber while you are in there.

If pawdoSD was referring to a weeping JUMPER line, that would "starve" fuel from the next cylinder.

im unsure what a leaking return line would do to the engine, the return lines feed back to the tank the air will bubble out to the top of the tank and the return will suck fuel only.

I did crack the injector lines 1 at the time but I couldn't tell wich one was bad. What am I supposed to check??...I would crack inj 1 open and the car will miss a lot...tighten it back up...it would go back to it's normal miss. Same with the other 4. The miss it's not obvious enough to catch it seems like it anyway.

I'd fix the broken line before I did any other testing. Firstly is the cheapest to do, and you need to do it. Secondly because your test results won't be optimum if you've got other problems before you start.
My 2 cents.
Mike
