intermittant charging
A couple weeks ago the car stopped charging, which turned out to be a bad voltage regulator. Replaced that and battery (old). Two days ago, on a 2hr drive to pick wife up at the airport, stopped charging again, resulting in an overnight stay. Next day, jumped car and drove back with fading electricity, but halfway back, car started charging again! (everything that had stopped working started again) Now car is dead in drive, battery drained. Is there a likely connection that could be loose and causing this?
thanks, Mike

Could be a bad regulator, could be the alternator windings are intermittant.

So should I replace the regulator again? what should I do about intermittant windings? Could the car have eaten the new regulator that fast --- it was charging (14.1) after installation.
thanks, mike
