Cool Glad to know its there when you need it.

I was driving in my 300d today on a straight paved country road (55 zone) when some country bumpkin in a OJ series Ford Bronco pulled out in front of me. No time to stop, but managed to barely get around it, pulling about a 30-45 degree drift in the process. I'm shocked at how well the car handled and recovered; its nice to know its there when you need it. I think I'll audition for Fast and the Furious 4, Kansas W123 drift.

Snow in KS already??

Wow...I used to live in Wichita and remember some wicked drifts outside the city. Glad to hear you escaped the Bronco! Didn't realize you'd had snow yet though.

no snow in Kansas. Drifitng is a sport where someone tries to fishtail the cars to the brink of control. Mostly a ricer sport; made a very bad movie on it last year

Drifting

Drifting is a term used to describe sliding a car under control. If all 4 wheels are sliding, it's a four-wheel drift.

The term has been in use to talk about performance driving since the 40's to my knowledge, and possibly since cars and tires became capable of such a planned maneuver.

A Bozo in an 18 wheeler pulled out in front of my wife in her 400E yesterday . The brakes were the only thing that saved her. I love our Benzes.

People generaly hate hitting MB's as well, because the people who drive them either are attorney's, or have good ones.

A car in front of me swerved to the inner lane because he did not see the car in front of him stopped, and when I saw it I swerved to the other/outer lane. Like you I was amazed at the handling, very steady even for a heavy car.

Be safe out there
