Cummins Mercedes, and not the one you think

Ok so this guy is on another forum that I am on as well. www.cumminsforum.com He mentioned a little project he started a few weeks back and finally posted some pictures. http://profile.imageshack.us/user/nanaj70/ I am sure you guys are going to for it, but I think it's pretty damn cool.

Wow! I always wondered about putting one of those in our cars! Perhaps the 126 would have been better though? (bigger engine compartment and less wires around...) He's going to need some STRONG springs! Man will that be powerful though! (if it all works)

No doubt in my mind the drive shaft can take it... The flex discs will give out long before it will... Axles on the other hand....

He just needs some flaps on the side view mirrors to achieve the correct amount of lift for take off now.

ditto about the weight, everything from the wheel bearings to the engine mounts will be severely tested. A speed bump could be the death knell.

Everybody catch the photochop on pic #25? Klassy!

That's some bawlin' a$$ stuff right there..... I can only imagine the weight difference of that OM606 and that Cummins. I have no idea how he's going to figure out the spaghetti mess of wires to make that work.....

Good Luck!

he can give that diesel Taurag a run, at least until something gets shredded by the torque or weight. will be very cool if he gets it all working though

What an ultimate PITA!!!! Ditto on the spring perch reinforcement. I think the Cummins dresses out at around 900-1000# which kills P/U truck suspensions not to mention light duty car parts... He's my hero though...
