Learned the hard way... needed alignment

Not getting a wheel alignment one year ago when I bought my car, and 4 new tires just cost me $160.

Got the car one year ago, and bought new tires... well, one year later and only 16,000 miles, being out of line ruined one tire, left a second tire down to almost nothing, all because the car was bad out of line, and had a broken tie rod end.....

Uniroyals only lasted 16K on the right side of my car, the other side will probably last at least another 16K.

Lesson learned...

It took you a whole year & 16K miles, to realize your tires were running down unevenly?
You ought to look at your tires more often!

Btw, I dunno if you keep the grammar in your signature intentionally wrong, but correctly, it would be "Der Polluter" and "Keine Pillars" ...

touche

Touche.....

It didn't take that long, but the last month has been exponentially getting worse drivability.

I am riding on clouds now....

Like I said lesson learned... I was focussing on other maintenance, and issues on the car, but didn't focus on the tires until it was too late, so I rode them out and got two new ones.

I just replaced, actually swapped tires on my '96 Ford Contour. I can't say how long the tires were on there, but probably 20-25K. The were worn bad on the inside front tires. One was showing cords. It tracked fine and rode good. Squeeld a bit in turns though. I actually bought some used tires and BMW rims for $100. I plan to recylcle the rims for $$. They were for the Contour, but weren't the right size. Furtunatly the were the right size for the 240D. Then luckly the tires on the 240D were the correct size for the Contour.
Tires can wear fast, say in 5K. My mom had that problem on a fairly new Subaru. Had to replace the front two.

Did you take it to the dealership to get it sorted out?
