I got bigger issues now, 2 of the bolts holding the water pump on snapped when I tried to take if off. I got the pump out, but how do I get it back on!?

Yikes. This is what i fear when I pull mine tonight. I think this means you have to take the water pump housing that those bolts go into off.

Look on the bright side, itll be easy to replace your short coolant hose...Im sorry. I could be joining you in this predicament soon. I did soak them in PB blaster a few days ago, so I can only hope.

How do I access the lower bolt on the housing? I can't get my wrench in there because of the crank..

Happened too a friend who was changing his w/p in my shop. We used a touch to apply heat and vice grips on the "stub" came right out.

Can you turn the crank to a position where the bolt is accessible? I've changed a couple of pumps on 616's and 617's and haven't run into this problem.

Managed to get it out with a wrench, after bending it a bit. Now, I either have to get the broken bolts out or get a new water pump housing. Soaking it in penetrating oil right now... Any idea how to get it out if that doesn't work?
