83 300sd transmission slips when accelerating from a stop

My 1983 300sd transmission is slipping when accelerating from a stop. It shifts fine when the fluid is cold (no slipping), and it shifts fine in all the other gears at all times.
I have searched through the forum and havent seen anything that seems to relate to my problem.

Over the summer I changed the fluid and filter (mobil 1) adjusted the vacuum at the VCV, replaced the plastic levers, checked the modulator to see if it would hold vacuum (which it did), I turned the modulator tee CW 1 1/2 turns (which it didnt help), changed the dashpot to a new MB one.

I would like to know if I missed something or if anyone has any suggestions (Brian?) I am all ears.

Is this trans. shot? If so I need to know where to get a rebuilt one from a reputable builder.

modulator pressure setting

Tony,

search for pressure setting of the modulator.
Use a gauge and the port to adapt the 8x1 banjo.
