Thumbs up Headrests in back of the SD

I pulled the parts out of an SEL for about $10.00 a few weeks ago and finally got the time to install them today. They are pretty cool looking and functional. My wife was riding in the back tonight and found that they worked pretty good. Point is the hardware was easy to remove from the SEL and easy to install in the SD.

Thats good to know, I was looking at some head rests in some 126`s this weekend at the wrecking yard wondering if they would fit my 84 SD.
I have some out of a 123 euro rear seat for the 85. just need black covers for them.

Do you have any pics of the mounting hardware? Thanks.

I did not take any picture. When you go to the boneyard look at the donner car (SEL), the back supports are the same. There is a metal plate that runs down each support that the head rest arms slide in. You will have to unbend the mounting points with pliers and pull them apart. They hook back up on your car in reverse. Don't forget to cut the grommets out of the SEL seat back where the headrest arms slide through. These come apart with a flat blade screw driver, working around until they come lose. It is better to just cut the pieces out and do this at home. There is a sticky seal ring inside between the seat back and the grommet, just reuse it. Hope this helps. Post any questions and I'll try to help. Very straight forward once you get started and see whats going on.
