Ok guys, let's pick 'er apart...(if we can!)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983-MERCEDES-300SD-TURBO-DIESEL-33-807-MILES-LOOK_W0QQitemZ190171299712QQihZ009QQcategoryZ6330QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I'll admit, I can't seem to find a 'blemish'!

It looks good but I can't figure out why they would be running green coolant in it. Buy it now seems a little pricey.

Yeah. I actually thought the Buy it now price was a bit high. But I've been amazed at lesser looking MB's going for BIG $$$...

Gee, ya think?!
Does look nice, though. One of my favorite interior colors. One of my least favorite exterior colors......
Lots of folks don't know any better than to use green coolant. No real mystery there.

same color scheme as my 82 300sd. Looks very nice. $10,000 is a good price if mileage is legit. Judging by the pictures and interior condition, it sure looks original. The only thing that looks suspicious is the valve cover condition.

That's a fair price. I don't like the color of either of mine, didn't buy 'em for that tho.

No Carfax.......no Believe

Guys, I owned an '83 300SD. The front driver's seat bottom evidences up to maybe 100K on it.

Granted, it looks 100% garaged when not in use. I would have to see the car in person to give more than the $15K it's at now. Underside, under the hood, EVERYWHERE! I would have to also interview the widow of the deceased guy.

Bottom line:
No CARFAX Report to track it's mileage? I would HAVE to assume the mileage is BOGUS, and it's been jimmied with. Nobody buys a diesel to only drive it 33K in 25 years......wake-up!

It's at an AFTERMARKET dealer guys! They're TRUSTWORTHY?! NOT!

I agree........no Carfax, no sale.

However, if the paint is original, the vehicle cannot have 100K on the clock..........there's not a single paint chip on the nose that's visible in the photos.........and avoiding same is impossible with that mileage level.

I just bought a 79 SD with 111k miles. It came with the maintenance booklet and receipts. I cannot find a flaw in the paint anywhere except for two minor spots on the sunroof. No records or evidence of a repaint. The paint is in better condition than the paint on my 77 300d with only 75k.
I too thought the seats seemed a little worn for that low a mileage but with that low a mileage it probably has seen lots of very short trips so it could have as many driver entrance/exits as a car with 100k used on longer trips so it's still possible it's correct. I'd want to see the stamped maintenance booklet with dates to confirm the mileage.
I definitely don't think it's worth the buy it now price nor even the current bid price.

How can it possibly go 100K without any stone chips on the nose? That's almost impossible.........???

The driver air vent is missing some fins....

Do the gauge needles turn yellow in the sun or from age?
