Tick tick tick tick tick?

So i bought a 1984 300sd last sunday. The car runs great, has no blow by and overall runs well. The only problem is a slight ticking in the engine. It is not terrible, but enough concern for me to fix before driving it. I cracked the injector s to try and determine if one of them was the culprit. This did not change anything.Changed the filters, still nothing. I pulled the valve cover and checked the valve clearances but they where all in spec. Today i changed the timing chain tensioner to no avail. It seems to be coming from the front of the engine . Even with a stethoscope i could not determine the exact location. I am lost on what to do next? Any ideas guys? I like this car and want it to run perfect.

I put the stethoscope on the vac pump but could not determine if it was ticking. Can the vac pump make a ticking noise and still work? I guess i will tear into it tomorrow.

bad injector nozzles and/or no prechamber balls will do this.
