1984 190D: Which motor mount--right or left?

I have a bad motor mount, but I'm guessing it's just one that's bad, not both. Therefore, I'd only like to order one new part. However, I'm trying to figure out whether to order the right or left (or are they interchangeable?)--which one usually fails first?

Either one can fail just as much as the other. You can either guess and gamble or you can figure it out and order the correct one.

Get a buddy and a flashlight. Have the buddy hold the brakes and switch between drive and reverse while you watch the engine mounts. If one is bad, the engine will move more as it torques away from the bad side.
