81 300sd Oil Leak minor
I was under the car today and noticed a small spot of oil on the ground looked up and there was a tad bit of very wet oil on the bottom part of what i think is the AC compressor.
Looking around i couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I later found it by accident, the upper oil cooler line i think is where it is coming from it had a fresh ring of oil at the top of it where it comes out the cooler. It seems there is a small hole in the fitting at the top that's meant to be there. should there be a small hole on the top of the fitting? Also I have another small leak over by the turbo i need to track down. and my oil/vapor separator is spitting a small amount of oil into the u-shaped intake boot that leads into the turbo. Also there was one drop ready to drop from the oil pan bolt, looks like its leaking from there also. Its been about 2.5k miles since my oil change and I've only added about a 1/5 of a quart cause i was cleaning out the car and found it and it wasn't full up. Car is still near the high line on full. So the leaks are minimal i think and my drive way is not littered with oil spots but there are some, mostly under the turbo as that has had a tiny leak since i got the car almost a year ago. any idea why my oil has decided to start leaking in a few diff spots now? Would the cold weather have anything to do with it?

phoenix? cold weather? There shouldn't be a hole in the fitting on the oil cooler. Got a picture?

well colder weather then its used too
 but yes not cold at all really though hey it did dip down to 37 a few days ago.here is the best pic i could get some reason all the rest sucked hardcore.

I would clean that crimp off thoroughly and just monitor it. The leak does not look serious enough to require replacement at the moment.

Monitor closely. Have replaced two sets of these (300D and 300SD). SD just finished this weekend, it was more difficult than the 300D. Not a fun job, but not too difficult either. Mine weren't dripping, but without a dummy light, figured one could burst, and I may not notice until it was too late.

When you change the Hose/s I would make plans for another ride incase one of the Oil Cooler Nipple threads get stripped (it happened to me).
There is a repair for that but it take time to round up the tools and parts. In the DIY section there is several suggestions to minimize the chance of the Nipple stripping.
