Arrow 240d

Ok, so I'm about to dive into my 240D project blind folded after I've decided keeping it is the best idea for now...

things i know i need to do

pans f/r l/r
front subframe (rusted through)
front wheel wells (also rusted/ghetto patched)
body rust
replace drivers front door
dent removal / straighten body out a bit (doesn't line up... anywhere)
new bumper (front)
new hood (seems more logical than bondo)
new suspension all the way around
whole radiator support replace
body piece infront of radiator under bumper (what in the hell is it called?!? i'm missing the whole damn thing. )
whole exaust system

things done.
tuneup
tranny flush
brakes/lines
oil change (no leaks! very little burn)

anywhere I should start looking

performance seems like my best bet for now along with
european connections in KY, but i need to call mercedes benz of cincinatti for the friggin number again

Beautiful 240! What is the "U59" on the front bumper??
That is a LONG list of things you have to do. You will certainly have bonded with your car by then.

I dont see alot of rust on that vehicle. Later models had built in plastic mudflaps on corners of front wheel wells though. You might wanna think about adapting em to your '79. Also "paint" any undercarriage that looks salty and crusty with whatever oil you've got kickin around. At Vermont i understand they litterally throw cars on lifts and grease undercarriage rust-prone sheet metal areas each Winter.
